When the test is useful
Allergy is an inappropriate reaction of the immune system to otherwise harmless substances in the surrounding environment. When the body comes into contact with an allergen, it reacts defensively and releases histamine, which causes typical allergy symptoms.
Cat allergens are among the smallest and most problematic airborne allergens. The main allergen is a protein present in cat sweat and saliva, and the particles can remain suspended in the air for six hours or longer.
The Imutest Cat test is suitable for indicative home assessment of sensitivity to cat allergens using a drop of blood taken from the fingertip.

Kit contents

  • 1 sterile lancet for pricking the finger,
  • 1 blood collection tube,
  • 1 bottle of developer solution,
  • a test unit in a foil pouch with a desiccant sachet,
  • instructions for use in English.
Important: The desiccant sachet must be yellow or pale greenish yellow. If it is green, contact the distributor or retailer.
Storage
The test kit should be stored and used at normal room temperature. If it has been stored at a much lower temperature, leave it unopened at room temperature for at least two hours before use.
