VS-SENSE Test
When the test is useful
Vaginitis is one of the most common conditions for which women seek medical help. Common infectious forms include trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, and vaginal yeast infection.
Symptoms of vaginal infections are non-specific and may be caused by different pathogens. For correct treatment, it is therefore important to have reliable indicative information and then follow up with professional examination if needed.
The test is performed using a standard vaginal sample, and the result is assessed according to the color change of the test indicator.
The test is suitable, for example, in cases of itching, discharge, burning in the genital area, or for follow-up home testing after treatment.

How the test works
Bacterial vaginosis and trichomonas infections may raise vaginal pH above the normal range.
A color change of the VS-SENSE swab tip from yellow to green or blue occurs when the swab comes into contact with vaginal secretion with abnormal pH or low buffering capacity.
According to the supplied text, the color changes at pH 5.2 and above, or dynamically between pH 4.3 and 5.2 depending on the buffering capacity of the secretion.
